from interview scheduling to final production.
Information collection
This is the first stage. You tell us which family members you would like us to interview and, with their agreement, one of our friendly and experienced team will start the conversation. Personal, cultural and social sensitivities are respected at all times. Our professional interviewers are multilingual and have a good understanding of the local culture and customs, ensuring an enjoyable interview experience and self-reflection process.

Material archiving
A Zikra product covers the Author’s life from his or her roots and childhood, through education and career life stages to personal life transitions. To support the story, access to archive materials is essential – the more the better. These include photos or videos provided by the Author and the family. With the help of the Author and his or her family, our team puts archived material in order and adds suitable captions, so that they form a coherent narrative. If the Author agrees, we will take new photographs to include in the book. When a Zikra film is required, we will also take a short video sequence of the Author, to be included along with photos and valued family and historic videos.
The writing stage
The writing phase will be done by one of our talented writers, all of whom have long experience in drafting books and scripting documentary films in the language chosen by the family, that all generations can understand. We always seek your consent of the writing phase, so you can be totally confident that you approve of both the style and content of your book and film.
Design and production
Our professional designers will work with you on selecting an attractive cover and layout, prior to production. You can choose from a traditional biographical design or a Q/A format – but whichever you prefer, the design will be fully approved by you. Voice-over and background music will be selected with you, and you will be asked to approve it all before final production.
